Please, please find it in your heart to forgive me,” begged Erick Ncube as he slightly shed tears.

Erick, 32, was dragged to court for assaulting his pregnant wife Nobesuthu Dlamini with a plate full of sadza.

All this drama after he had arrived home at around 5am from a beer binging spree and demanded that Dlamini serve him his food.

When Dlamini refused to serve him he took the plate full of sadza and assaulted her with it on her face and then further assaulted her with open hands.

In a highly emotional scene Erick took to the dock, locked eyes with his wife who was far across and made a special statement.

“I know that all this was a result of me drinking a lot of beer at Red Café. I can’t promise you that I will stop drinking but I will surely reduce the amount of liquor I take. I am also promising to come back home before 8pm so that I can get to spend much time with you. You see, I love you so much and I can’t imagine life without you,” said Erick.

While he pleaded for her forgiveness, the court giggled and his wife slightly smiled, a sign that his words were melting her heart.

She did not waste time in forgiving her husband.

“I forgive you but I hope it will not happen again. I hope you will be the good husband that you were when we started staying together. I will also prolong the time a bit. I expect you to be home by 10pm every day,” said Dlamini.

After the promises magistrate Lungile Ncube fined Erick $100 for being physically abusive.
