Wife basher gets 10 months in prison

BULAWAYO man has been sentenced to 10 months in prison for assaulting his wife after he accused her of letting their daughter bring her boyfriends to his house.

Tafireyi Mangoma (50) of Makokoba suburb punched Ms Siphathisiwe Sibanda (39) several times all over the body.

Mangoma pleaded guilty to physical abuse when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Mr Lizwe Jamela.

He was convicted and sentenced to 10 months in prison.

Four months of the sentence were suspended on condition that he does not within the next five years commit a similar offence and the remaining six months were suspended on condition that he performs 210 hours of community service at Mzilikazi Police Station.
