A WOMAN allegedly connived with her friends to stage a FAKE ARMED ROBBERY in which US$30,000, belonging to her husband, was ‘stolen’ from their home.

Beauty Muzvondiwa, 32, has been arrested along with her suspected accomplices – Loveness Rice (25), Rhoda Zuze (43), and Ruvimbo Hodhera (24).

They are expected to appear in court today.

CID spokesperson, Detective Inspector Rachel Muteweri, said the arrests followed investigations that uncovered a stage-managed robbery involving a false report to police.

The stage-managed robbery occurred on Friday.

“On 25 September 2026, Muzvondiwa—who was aware that her husband had US$30,000—allegedly connived with her accomplices to steal the money,” Det-Insp Muteweri said.

“The group then staged a robbery in which Muzvondiwa later made a false report.”

In the fake police report, Muzvondiwa allegedly claimed she was attacked at gunpoint by armed men who stormed her house wearing balaclavas.

She alleged that the assailants demanded money and then fled with US$30,000, a DSTV decoder and a speaker.

Detectives from CID Homicide Harare instituted investigations into the case.

On Tuesday, Muzvondiwa was picked up for interviews. Investigations, Det-Insp Muteweri said, later indicated that Muzvondiwa had allegedly stolen the money with her accomplices before fabricating the robbery story.

Following further follow-ups, police arrested Loveness, Rhoda and Ruvimbo.

A DSTV decoder, a speaker, and US$20,450 in cash were recovered during the course of the investigations.

Det-Insp Muteweri said the quartet is expected to appear in court today facing charges of theft and deliberately making a false report to authorities.

The CID spokesperson warned members of the public against keeping large sums of money at home.

She urged anyone who receives substantial amounts of cash to deposit it in a bank.

“Making a false report to the police or deliberately supplying false information to the police is a chargeable offence,” Det-Insp Muteweri said.
