A WOMAN, who is breastfeeding her two-weeks’ old daughter, is in hospital after she suffered facial injuries when her husband splashed hot porridge all over her face and body.
The incident happened in Domboshava on Thursday.
Itayi Chingoka was rushed to Makumbe District Hospital where she was admitted.
This followed a domestic dispute with her husband, Lazarus Brazara, popularly known as Kakaka, in Domboshava.
Itayi has been forced to stop breastfeeding her baby due to the injuries she sustained and she is now looking for help.
Lazarus was arrested by police in Chinamhora and was questioned and released.
Itayi told H-Metro that her husband appeared drunk, on the day of the incident, and was uttering some vulgar words in front of their children.
This, she claims, is what led to the scuffle.
“My husband came home drunk and started shouting at me using bad language.
“I warned him over using obscene language since our children were there.
“I was preparing sadza and he took the pot and splashed the hot porridge at me,” said Itayi. Lazarus could not be reached for his side of the story.
