A DANGAMVURA woman resorted to weird means of getting school fees for their children from her husband after she drenched him with cold water before assaulting him.
The despicable act got Sifiso Sikaike (40) in trouble when she appeared before Mutare magistrate, Ms Prisca Manhibi facing physical abuse charges.
Ms Manhibi ordered Sifiso to pay $5 000 fine by November 30, or risk 30 days in prison.
Ms Tafadzwa Chiwanza prosecuted.
On November 3, the court heard, Sifiso poured three buckets of cold water on her husband, Richard Sikaike.
She also hit him with a cooking stick four times on the head.
“At around 5am, the complaint was in the restroom when the accused opened the door and poured three buckets of cold water on him. She also hit him four times on the head using a cooking stick,” said Ms Chiwanza.
A police report was made, leading to Sifiso’s arrest.
Asked why she had treated her husband in such a way, she told the court that he had refused to give her money for their children’s fees.
“If you had a job you would not assault your husband for money. You need to find something to do in life to supplement his earning because we fear you may go to the extremes of scalding him with cooking oil for his money,” said Ms Manhibi.
