Will Flame Lily choke?

Ellina Mhlanga Sports Reporter
FLAME Lily’s title credentials will be under a severe test when they face unpredictable Starbill at Chikurubi this afternoon as the Word Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league reaches its climax.

Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera and his men are leading the race by just a point and a draw or defeat may work in favour of second-placed Gunners, who play Ngezi Platinum, if they win at Rufaro. The seasoned campaigners have managed to hold onto top spot for the past five games.

“We are worried about our own games, we just need to collect maximum points,” said Saruchera. “It’s not going to be easy, as usual, but as Flame Lilly, we are ready and all the guys are raring to go. We are just going to fight to make sure we collects maximum points; we don’t want to drop points.”

Starbill are not safe from relegation and badly want all points. Their coach, Elisha Mukusa, said they were aware of their plight. “Our expectations are to just go there and play our normal game and try to come out with a positive result.

“We are very cautious and know that we are not safe, but that is not a factor to give us pressure. We are going there to try and work hard for a positive result. We don’t want to put the guys under any pressure,” said Mukusa.
