AMBITIOUS Kwekwe side Hard Rock will be chasing an eighth straight victory when they meet FC Platinum U19 in a rescheduled ZIFA Central Region Soccer League clash at Mandava today.
The tie was initially set for last Saturday but was postponed after the death of FC Platinum U19 midfielder Perfector Shoko.
Hard Rock have found top gear in the second half of the season, winning seven games in a row without conceding a goal.
They sit second on the table with 60 points, six behind leaders Sheasham, and hold a game in hand.
Hard Rock coach Calvin Maphosa said his team was sticking to a simple plan.
“When the second half of the season began, we made a pact that we wanted to win all our matches in the second half of the season,” Maphosa told the Zimpapers Sports Hub.
“It is all about building on the momentum we already have but much of what is transpiring is also down to the preparation we have had and additions we made to the squad.
“As a team what we want to do is make sure we get maximum points in all the matches we play. We are not reading much on the points difference with the log leaders.
“At this stage it is just one match at a time.”
With Sheasham set to face third-placed Gwanda Pirates on Saturday, Hard Rock know a win in Zvishavane will keep the leaders under pressure.
