IT might sound impossible but it’s possible FC Platinum could end up being relegated this season.
The four-time champions probably cursed themselves when they struggled to
accept their 2-5 loss at the hands of Scottland on August 2.
They have, however, made peace with players who were said to have been suspended as they were in action on their last fixture.
Norman Mapeza’s men are currently the worst team in the domestic league as they have lost their last five games in all competitions.
They have lost their four league games in a row.
They have 40 points in 26 assignments.
And, if they extend their losing streak to 12 consecutive games, it means Dynamos will likely finish on top of the four time champions should DeMbare extend their winning run to 13.
Dynamos have won six games in all competitions and have amassed 28 points in 27 attempts which means they will be sitting on 49 points if they win their remaining fixtures .
Dynamos are sitting second from the bottom.
It is difficult to imagine the local Premiership without any of these two giants but the brutal reality is that they are equally flirting with relegation.
Some are blaming the manner which FC Platinum leadership treated their players after their defeat to Scottland as they are said to have been called names.
Those meetings appears to have weighed down heavily on FC Platinum players who are emerging as the punching bag of the league.
They have also failed to register a goal in their last three games.
Mapeza’s troops are set to visit Manica Diamonds who are also heavily in the relegation matrix this Saturday.
FC Platinum won 1-0 in the reverse fixture at Mandava.
Mapeza remains hopeful.
“I have been talking to the players, we are in a painful phase, but it’s in the nature of this industry.
“You have to go through such phases and at the end of the day we can’t wait for anybody to rescue us. We have to make sure that we fight and rescue the situation,” said Mapeza.
