The “Bus Di Shot” singer commands a huge following in Marondera and as he bids farewell to his fans, there is every reason for music lovers to turn up in their numbers at Rat ‘n’ Mouse also known as Primus.
Winky D, whose music speaks about the struggle for poor people, has earned him such nicknames as the “Poor People’s Devotee”, “Ninja President” to the more sober ones like “Lionel Messi of Reggae” for being one of the best dancehall chanters in Zimbabwe.
So talented is Winky D that he uses his lyrical prowess to outdo his competitors.
Also on the entertainment line-up are DJ Smilie from Power FM, Legendary Sound’s Mr Ravin among others.
Danmore Muytambizi, the organiser of the gig, was elated that the show will bring together some of the most talented and uppcoming performers.
“Winky D is an amazing performer and each time he visits Marondera fans are assured of top class act. He has become an inspiration to a lot of up and coming artistes and I am happy for him,” he said.
Winky D is scheduled to take part at the Sama Festival in the UK this month alongside other Zimbabwean-based artistes in that country.
