London. — West Ham’s media team have been made to regret a post about Jose Mourinho’s defeats against the east London side after he played them yesterday and claimed his first win as Tottenham manager.
Mourinho’s first game in charge of his new club finished 3-2 to the visitors thanks to goals from Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane.
Earlier this week, West Ham’s official account posted highlights of when their side defeated Chelsea and Manchester United, sides coached by Mourinho, along with the caption “See you on Saturday Jose”, which was also accompanied by a wink emoji.
They also took aim at Mourinho by reminding fans about his quote on their club in 2014.
Mourinho has a largely successful record against West Ham in the Premier League. He has faced the Hammers 15 times and claimed 10 wins, drew three times and only lost twice.
Harry Kane put the finishing touches to an impressive performance for Spurs in east London.
Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pocehttino on Wednesday morning after the Argentine was sacked following a five-and-a-half year spell at Spurs.
Pochettino left the club on Tuesday night after failing to steer the north London outfit to a trophy during his reign.
Mourinho got the perfect start when first-half goals from Son and Lucas – both incisive attacks – were added to by Harry Kane’s header after the break as Tottenham won away in the Premier League for the first time in 308 days.
Late goals from Michail Antonio and Angelo Ogbonna skewed the scoreline as Tottenham dominated the game from start to finish.
