Preparations for Bulawayo’s debut Winter Carnival are at an advanced stage.

The carnival, a first of its kind, will be held at Horizon Pub & Grill next week Saturday and will feature performances from up-and-coming models, comedians, singers and dancers from Bulawayo.

Dance groups Antivirus and Hurricane, artistes Cal_Vin, Klap and comedians Clive Chigubu and Keith Nkosi are some of the artistes billed to perform.

Organiser of the event, DJ Joe the OG said the carnival was being held to promote the city’s artistes and to spice up the night life.

“I want to shake off the mentality that people have of winter being an off clubbing season. The carnival is part of our efforts to lure patrons to go out during this cold season as it’ll be a unique event, worth attending,” said the DJ.

“All is set for the winter carnival with models rehearsing tirelessly.”

He also revealed plans to make the carnival an annual event with the addition of a summer carnival.
