UNITED Kingdom-based women’s empowerment advocate, Ruth Dhliwayo, recently hosted a conference dubbed “Executive Branch with Kudzai.”
It provides a platform for women to share ideas. “I recently launched ‘Executive Branch with Kudzai’ in the UK and it went really well.

“There was good attendance. The Executive Branch aims to empower women across the globe and offers a practical and actionable platform for advice which helps individuals to grow and accelerate in today’s modern society, workplace and business arena.
“We are coming back home where we intend to establish initiatives which empower young people to fight the dependency syndrome. I truly believe young people are the solution to our everyday problems.

“They are the powerhouse for change and, after all, the future is ours.”
She added: “It is our duty to be concerned about matters that threaten our future. We need to take responsibility for the world that we will inherit.

“The majority of people in Africa, and specifically in Zimbabwe, are youths and they are unemployed. Unemployment rates in this group is rising year-on-year,” she said.
Dhliwayo moved to the UK at the age of 11. At 16, she had already established her own tutoring company, teaching GCSE subjects, and assumed a role as youth president at her church.
In 2019, Dhliwayo won the “Zimbabwe Young Achiever Award” for her success in the corporate world. Her passion to give back to her country drove her to launch Stenom Foundation, a non-profit organisation, which was set up to reduce youth unemployment among those aged from 16-35 years.
“Stenom has been operating as a community group since 2020, impacting over 300 plus youths.
“It became a fully registered non-profit entity in the UK and in Zimbabwe in 2022.
“Stenom Foundation empowers young people to build the confidence required to start and grow social businesses that transform communities both in the UK and Africa as a whole.
“Other activities offered include mentorship, access to funding and collaborative working with similar organisations,” she said. Stenom Foundation works in the heart of communities, finding social entrepreneurs, increasing their knowledge so they can run efficient operations to improve their livelihoods.
