Woman bashes hubby with cooking stick, broomstick in infidelity row

A WOMAN from Bulawayo’s Njube suburb recently left people in her neighbourhood shocked after she ran amok and thoroughly assaulted his husband with a cooking stick and a broom stick on suspicion that he had a girlfriend.

Lovie Mahlangu reportedly usually bashes her husband Zibusiso Mahlangu in full glare of their neighbours, a development that has resulted in the latter being a laughing stock in the community.

As if that is not enough, Lovie, who seems to have totally lost her affection for her husband, sometimes chases Zibusiso while armed with a knife.

Efforts to rein in Lovie by her relatives have all gone down the drain leaving Zibusiso with no option but to seek justice  from the courts.

“I am having problems with my wife who is abusing me emotionally, physically and psychologically. She also threatens to kill me. There is a day when I went to buy my brother’s pills and when I came back she assumed that I had gone to see my girlfriend. She then assaulted me using a cooking stick and a broomstick wanting to snatch my phone,” said Zibusiso.

Zibusiso said he now feared for his life.

“She even ran after me with a knife hence I am now living in fear. She is a very violent woman who can no longer be controlled. I therefore ask this honourable court to grant me a protection order to stop her from assaulting and threatening to kill me,” said Zibusiso.

Western Commonage magistrate Urgent Vundla granted an interim order pending a final decision.
