A lower Gweru woman got a rude awakening when she discovered that her best friend was head over heels in love with her husband.
Sekai Mpofu has been married to Mukudzei Chiro since 2010 but the couple started having marital problems after Chiro dated another woman from the community.
Mpofu tried to engage Chiroa��s parents but that did not help matters. It seems her bid to save her marriage from collapsing made matters worse as Chiro took his misdemeanours to another level.
While Mpofu was relaxing at home around 4pm last Friday, she received an anonymous call informing her that her calf had drowned at a nearby river.
She rushed to the river only to find Chiro caressing and kissing her best friend Anita Machacha.
Seeing the two, Mpofu got shocked at first sight but mastered courage and confronted the pair but in shame they took to their heels.
Left with no option, she reported the matter to the village head who then referred the matter to Chief Sogwala.
a�?Ia��m handling a matter of infidelity that involves Sekai Mpofu, Mukudzei Chiro and Anita Machacha. The report stated that Chiro and Machacha were caught kissing at the river bank.
I have to deal with such a matter decisively as it brings shame to the community and it would send a message to those who intend to wreck peoplea��s marriages,a�? said Chief Sogwala.
