A Harare woman claims her husband attacked her with a knife and stole her US$2,8k after reprimanding him about his habit of walking around naked.
This was revealed after Esther Shoko was dragged to the Harare Civil Court by her husband Abraham Zolomani, who was seeking a protection order.
Abraham told the court that his wife was having extramarital affairs, which led him to chase her away from their matrimonial home.
“I caught a text message of her having affairs with other men.
“We got into an argument after l found text messages of her cheating on me, which led me to chase her away from our home.
“I was angry at that moment, and I want the court’s protection because I no longer love her.
In response to the allegations raised, Esther denied ever having extramarital affairs.
“I have never cheated on my husband, but he chased me away from our matrimonial home after I had reprimanded him.
“He is in the habit of walking around the house naked and urinating on the couch in front of our children.
“When I confronted him about his behaviour, he attacked me with a knife and chased me out of the house late at night.
“I came back home the next morning to find my US$2,8k I had saved to start a business missing.
“When I asked him about the money, he assaulted me and kicked me out of the house with my children. We have been staying on the streets ever since,” she said.
Presiding magistrate Meenal Naratom dismissed Abraham’s application of a protection order citing a lack of merit.
