Woman collapses, dies on way to garden

A 38-year-old woman from Mwenezi in Masvingo collapsed and died while on her way to her garden, police confirmed.
Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Peter Zhanero said the incident happened on Sunday at about 12 noon.
He identified the deceased as Mrs Tsiveyi Chikaritano of Village A, Rutenga West.
Insp Zhanero said Mrs Chikaritano’s body was taken to Neshuro Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem.

“I can confirm receiving a report of sudden death which occurred in Mwenezi in Rutenga area. Police attended the scene and took the body to the hospital mortuary,” he said.

According to a source, on the fateful day, Mrs Chikaritano was going to the garden which is a little distance from her homestead.
“At around 11 am Mrs Chikaritano left her homestead for the garden in the company of a neighbour, only identified as Ms Mweneki. After travelling half way to the garden, Mrs Chikaritano started complaining of a severe headache,” said the source.
Mrs Chikaritano later collapsed and died.
