A GWANDA woman has dragged her husband’s cop mistress to court demanding a $3 500 compensation.
Speaking in court Mrs Edery Tsamwisi said her husband, Mr Gift Tsamwisi who is a police officer in Gwanda, had since moved out of their matrimonial home and was staying with his mistress, Talent Maribha, who is also a police officer in Filabusi.
Mrs Tsamwisi said the two lovebirds met at their workplace and have been having the affair for the past two years.
She said her husband left the matrimonial home in May 2015.
“I want Talent to pay me $3 500 as compensation for the suffering she has caused me by having an affair with my husband.
“She knew that I and my husband were married because he introduced me to her when they started working together. However, she went ahead to have an affair him.
“As I speak they have a child together. My husband last set foot at home in May 2015. This has left me traumatised and it has affected me emotionally. He also left with some of our household property that we purchased together. I want Talent to pay for the suffering that she has brought upon me,” she said.
Mrs Tsamwisi said when she heard that her husband was having an affair with a workmate, she engaged their superiors over the matter.
She said the lovebirds were reprimanded and Maribha was transferred to Filabusi in order to end the relationship but that did not work.
She said her husband and mistress admitted to having an affair before their superiors and made it clear that they would not end the relationship as they were in love.
Talent, through her lawyer Mr W Madzimbamuto of TJ Mabhikwa and Partners, denied having an affair with Mr Tsamwisi or staying with him.
Gwanda magistrate Miss Nomagugu Ncube remanded the matter to tomorrow for continuation of trial.
Mrs Tsamwisi is being represented by Mr V Ndlovu of Mlweli Ndlovu and Partners.
