A HARARE hairdresser offered $20 000 maintenance for his two children when he appeared in the Harare Civil Court yesterday.
Innocent Masocha was taken to court by Makanyara Muchenga, who was demanding US$150.
“I need to pay rent, school fees, extra lessons, buy food, uniforms and clothes for the children,” said Muchenga.
In response, Masocha told the court that he was facing financial difficulties.
“My offer is $20 000 because that is what I can afford.
“Nowadays I am not earning a lot at work,” he said.
Muchenga rejected the offer saying it was not enough.
Magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini granted the order and said Masocha should pay $35 000 plus school fees and buy uniforms.
