A HARARE woman stunned the court after she demanded a US$2k divorce token from her erstwhile husband.
The matter was heard before Harare Civil Court magistrate Meenal Naratom where Jaine Manjoro, who is the ‘official’ wife, is seeking a protection order against Sekai Madondo. Jaine Manjoro told the court that her husband’s ex, Sekai comes to disturb her peace.
“This woman is so dramatic.
“My husband is a police officer and when he gets his pay, his ex takes all the money demanding US$2000 for her gupuro.
“They separated five years ago but she still comes to our house to make noise.
“My husband cannot fight her because he is an officer and she tears my husband’s clothes whenever she sees her with groceries.
“This woman is very violent and l want her to stop coming to my house. She gets influence from the people around her.”
Sekai disputed the claims saying that she is not violent.
“I am not violent and this woman snatched my man from me and she has to suffer.”
The magistrate granted a protection order.
