Woman fatally assaults teen over extramarital affair

A Gokwe woman has been arrested after she allegedly went berserk and fatally assaulted a teenager with a flurry of punches, accusing her of having an extramarital affair with her husband.
The teenager, Caroline Zingwara, 18, who collapsed after receiving several punches from Fambisai Bikausaro, 23, vomited to death.
Midlands police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said police attended the scene on Saturday afternoon and arrested Bikausaro.

He said on Saturday afternoon, Bikausaro who suspected the now-deceased girl from Mbangiwa Village under Chief Njelele of having an extramarital affair with her husband went to the girl’s homestead to inquire about the alleged illicit affair.

Insp Mahoko said on arrival at Zingwara’s homestead, Bikausaro went after the girl, punched her with fists all over the body.
“The girl collapsed and another female adult, Doit Ndlovu, later restrained Bikausaro from further assaulting the girl,” he said.

Insp Mahoko said Zingwara started vomiting while complaining of a headache and died on the spot.
“Police attended the scene and arrested Bikausaro,” he said

In an unrelated incident, a 41-year- old man from Zhombe was arrested after he fatally attacked his wife with a vehicle shock absorber for speaking to her suspected boyfriend in his presence.

The suspect, Thembinkosi Gumbo, became agitated after he spotted his wife Nyarai Moyo speaking to another man and reached for a vehicle shock absorber which was in the house.

Insp Mahoko said Gumbo attacked Moyo using the shock absorber all over the body.
“He was later restrained by neighbours. Moyo who was injured following the attack by her husband was rushed to Kwekwe District Hospital but was referred to Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harare. She died the second day while on admission,” he said.

Insp Mahoko said members of the public should avoid resorting  to violence when resolving differences.
