A Gwanda Town woman who attacked her husband’s two “small houses” at night and damaged their property as she searched for her husband, has been fined $100 or two months in prison. Julia Nyathi (41), of 4176 Spitzkop Medium was convicted on two counts of malicious damage to property by Matabeleland South provincial magistrate Mr Douglas Vakayi Chikwekwe.

On Tuesday at about 10pm, Nyathi went to one of her husband’s small houses, Ms Gloria Ndlovu (22) who is said to be in love with her husband, Mr Mkhokheli Nkala.

She went there to look for her husband and started shouting at Ms Ndlovu.
Ms Ndlovu did not respond resulting in Nyathi striking the window pane with a brick.

She looked inside the room and saw that her husband was not there.
After failing to locate her husband at Ms Ndlovu’s place, Nyathi proceeded to the house of Ms Audrey Mapondera (28) of 3957 Spitzkop, who is also said to be Mr Nkala’s other girlfriend.

On arrival, Nyathi again started shouting and later broke the window pane and again could not find her husband.
She then returned to her home.

The two “small houses” reported the matter to the police leading to Nyathi’s arrest.
Mr Mncedisi Dube represented the State.
