Matabeleland South police spokesperson Sergeant Loveness Mangena said Clotlda Tshuma’s body was found on 14 April on the floor of her hut.
Tshuma stayed alone at her homestead although some of her relatives who stay nearby would come to visit her often.
Sgt Mangena said Tshuma’s body was found by a relative, Ms Agatha Tshuma (59), who had gone to check on her as she suffered from a mental illness.
Tshuma’s relative later made a report to police in Mangwe.
“On 13 April at around midday, Clotlda Tshuma (39), who had a history of mental illness arrived home from Bulawayo where she had gone for treatment.
“On 14 April, Ms Agatha Tshuma (59), from a neighbouring homestead, went to check on her as she was staying alone.
“She found her dead and lying on the floor facing downwards and rushed to Mangwe Police Station where she made a report,” said Sgt Mangena.
Sgt Mangena said the body was ferried to Plumtree District Hospital for a postmortem.
