Woman found dead in Roughsland Farm

Police in Mashonaland East Province are hunting for a suspect who allegedly murdered a yet to be identified woman and covered her body with grass and some tree branches.

The body of the deceased believed to be around 30 years old was found in Roughsland Farm, Marondera on January 15, 2022 by one Alick Mbonyera (36) of Marondera who had gone to the said farm in search of mushrooms.

After discovering the body, he proceeded to make a report with the police.

Police attended to the scene where they observed that the deceased’s head had been crushed by a huge stone and her hands were tied with shoelaces while red underwear was stashed in her mouth.

Reports also say her neck was also tied with a blue USB cable and a green blouse. Police spokesperson for Mashonaland East Province Inspector Simon Chazovachiyi confirmed the incident.

He appealed to members of the public for information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect. Insp Chazovachiyi appealed to anyone missing a relative to proceed to the nearest police station.
