A WOMAN from Bulawayo has been sentenced to 12 months in prison after she was found with dagga hidden in a pot on top of a refrigerator in her bedroom.
Precious Magagula (32) of Harrisvale suburb was found with 192 grammes of dagga.
She pleaded guilty to possession of dangerous drugs when she appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Ms Ulukile Muleya.
The magistrate sentenced her to 12 months in prison and suspended six months for five years on condition that Magagula does not commit a similar offence within that period.
“The remaining six months have been suspended on condition that the accused person completes 210 hours of community service at Sauerstown police station,” said the magistrate.
Prosecuting, Mr Mufaro Mageza said on Saturday last week at around 6AM, police officers from Bulawayo Central Police station went to Magagula’s house to look for her husband who was a suspect in an attempted murder case.
“When the police officers arrived at the accused person’s house, they did not find her husband,” he said.
The court heard that the police had also received communication that Magagula and her husband were drug dealers.—@zinyuke98
