A 37-year-old woman from Bulawayo has been remanded in custody after appearing before Tredgold Magistrates’ Court on allegations of murdering her husband following a dispute over a SIM card.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPA), Sibonakaliso Ndlovu is accused of killing her 40-year-old husband, Bekezela Dube, during an altercation at their home on the 4th of this month.
Allegedly, during the dispute, Ndlovu pushed Dube to the ground before picking up a half brick and striking him once just below the left eye.
Dube was later rushed to a clinic but died on the way. Before his death, he reportedly narrated details of the incident to witnesses, which later led to the arrest of the accused.
Ndlovu is remanded in custody and is expected to return to court on March 19, 2026. The NPA urges members of the public to exercise restraint and resolve disputes peacefully, warning that senseless acts of violence often lead to tragic consequences.
