A 50-year-old woman appeared in court for allegedly selling a car worth US$4 500 without the owner’s consent.

Nikki Muringi was granted $50 000 bail when she appeared before Harare Magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure.

She will be back in court on March 9, pending finalisation of investigations.

Allegations are that sometime in May last year, Nikki was given a Mercedes Benz E200, registration number ADV 2790, by Lloyd Mugezi after an agreement.

It is alleged that Nikki failed to handover the vehicle when it was demanded by Mugezi, as she had sold it without Mugezi’s knowledge.

The court heard that she received US$4 500 from the sale of the car and shared it with her accomplice, who is already on remand.

Nikki denied all the allegations and claimed that she had returned the vehicle to Mugezi.

Essel Zinhiva appeared for the State.
