AN unrepentant Bulawayo woman embarked on a house breaking spree in Nketa suburb, a day after she was  granted bail, breaking into four houses where she stole valuables and cash.

Sifiso Ncube (23), was arrested last Wednesday following her house breaking spree. According to Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, Ncube was released from Mlondolozi Female Prison last Tuesday after being granted bail on two other cases of unlawful entry and theft. She reportedly continued with her house breaking spree following her release, first striking at about 12pm on Wednesday. Ncube unlawfully entered four houses where she was using a hoe to forcefully open the doors.

“While inside she would steal cash, valuables such as cell phones as well as clothes. In the first incident she got away with a Huawei YS lite cellphone worth US$50 and a black dress. She went to the second house and got away with US$50 that was inside a wardrobe.

“She then proceeded to the third house and stole a black Samsung cellphone valued at R1 000 which was on the coffee table.

“At the fourth house, where she found the complainant bathing, she took a cellphone, on her way out the complainant saw her and followed her.

“He then mobilised neighbours who apprehended her,” said Asst Insp Msebele.

Ncube was then searched and all the stolen phones were recovered. However, cash was not recovered. The owner of the stolen clothes also identified one of her dresses which Ncube was already wearing.

“We appreciate the members of the public who worked together and managed to apprehend the accused person. We advise members of the public to be careful even during the day, as unlawful entry cases can happen anytime,” said the police spokesperson.
