Hilda Kamupira of Number 137 Megawatt Court in Harare was not formally charged when she appeared before magistrate Mr Donald Ndirowei.
She was remanded to December 7 for trial on US$100 bail coupled with stringent reporting conditions.
The court ordered her to surrender her passport to the clerk of court, not to interfere with State witnesses as well as to report once every week at CID frauds.
Prosecutor Ms Rutendo Manimanzi alleges that sometime in September this year, Kamupira (40) connived with an accomplice Kudakwashe Mudumo already in remand on a similar case of swindling unsuspecting investors.
Mudumo through his company Pukmund Construction Pvt (Ltd) acquired a tender to construct precast walls and gates at Mbare Polyclinic and Edith Opperman Maternity Clinic.
Using the tender documents the two approached Sehlukele Tshabalala who resides at the same flat.
They told her that she would be incorporated into Mudumo’s company as a co-director if she injected US$6 620.
They further told her that the project would realise a profit of US$8 500, which they would share equally.
Tshabalala was interested in the deal and she paid US$6 630 to the pair.
Mudumo and Kamupira pocketed the money.
The matter came to light on November 11 when Tshabalala went to inspect the project and was told that the tender was cancelled because Mudumo failed to do the work.
