A woman has appeared before the Lupane Magistrates’ Court for allegedly killing her 14-month-old baby.
The 22-year-old woman is facing murder charges.
Allegations are that on September 6, 2024 at around 8 am, the woman took her 14-month-old son outside and threw him on a rock.
Upon realising that the child was dead, she allegedly took him to her bedroom, put him on the bed, and locked the door.
She then went to the garden.
At around 11 am, the woman returned home and advised her mother-in-law that the baby had died.
A post-mortem was conducted and it was discovered that the baby’s death was a result of assault.
The woman was remanded in custody to October 1, 2024 pending police investigations and medical examinations.
