Harare magistrate Mrs Gamuchirai Gore has issued a warrant of arrest for Molly Albertinah Chirongoma (55), who is facing charges of insulting a witness and ordering him to stop testifying in her friend’s case.

Chirongoma is facing charges of defeating the course of justice.

Mrs Gore issued the warrant of arrest after Chirongoma failed to appear in court.

The complainant in this matter is Kirk Woest.

It is the State’s case that on April 10, 2024 and at the Harare Magistrates Court, Chirongoma approached Worst as he was coming out of the court where he was a witness in a case between her friend James Landon and Ronald Nyandoro.

The court heard that Chirongoma started shouting and pointing her finger at Worst while instructing him to stop testifying in the case.

It is the State’s case that Chirongoma was refrained from further insulting Worst by Mukumbi Shadreck, a prison officer.

Chirongoma was called by Landon and she got into a car and drove off.

A report was made to the police and investigations were carried out, leading to Chirongoma’s arrest.
