Woman raped, robbed

A 35-year-old Bulawayo man allegedly raped and robbed a woman who was looking for employment and later advised her to dump her husband.
Farai Mlauzi tricked the woman and led her to a house in Killarney belonging to his sister whom he claimed was in dire need of a maid.
It is the State’s case that a few minutes into the walk to the house Mlauzi pounced onto the woman and threatened to stone her if she refused to have sex with him.

Mlauzi appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Gladmore Mushove facing two counts of contravening a section of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act.
He was remanded in custody to December 22.

It also emerged in court that the accused was also supposed to appear in court for another case of plain robbery where he ran away with cash, a laptop and two phones after using the same trick to lure the complainant to a bushy area.

For the first case, the courts heard that on November 3 in a bushy area between Killarney and Riverside, Mlauzi ordered the complainant to remove her pair of jeans and raped her once without protection.

After dressing up he told her to dump her husband as he was now interested in marrying her before fleeing from the scene with her cash and mobile phone.
