A Kwekwe woman left a court shocked after making startling revelations that her husband of 40 years was in possession of goblins that have caused untold misfortune and suffering within the family.
Sostina Mushonga made the sensational claims after she was dragged to court by her husband Godfrey Sibanda, who sought a protection order against her.
In response to the claims made by her husband, Mushonga alleged that he wanted to use the protection order to get rid of her because she was for the idea of disposing the “things”.
In his application, Sibanda, who has been separated from Mushonga for almost three years, claimed that his wife was in the habit of visiting Silobela Hospital where he works, causing havoc and disturbing his peace.
“She always comes to my workplace insulting me and threatening to deal with me. I always cry because of the things she says when she comes to my workplace.
“I no longer want her at my workplace because I am still paying her rentals and buy her groceries although we are separated,” Sibanda told the court.
In response, Mushonga said Sibanda was looking for ways of getting rid of her because she wanted to dispose of the goblins.
“He knows the things that he is in possession of have been causing misfortune in our family. All my children do not work and are destitute because of the things he has. We have done nothing for the past 40 years that we have been married, up until now I am still renting a small room. We failed to even build our own house,” she said.
“I have been trying every time to tell him to look at what the things have done to our children but instead he chooses to dump me because he now wants to get married to another woman.
The traditional leaders told him to get rid of the things but he is adamant that is why he wants to stop me from visiting him because I always tell him the truth,” said Mushonga.
Magistrate Vimbai Mtukwa granted the protection order in favour of Sibanda but urged him to follow proper procedures of divorcing Mushonga if he entertained thoughts of marrying another woman.
