Woman slaps husband over icon gala reprimand

THE Human Resources manager of Ilala Lodge in Victoria Falls, Philip Nine, has dragged his wife to court after she assaulted him for refusing to allow her to go to the 21st February Gala on Saturday night.The gala was held at Chinotimba Stadium. Philip’s wife, Chipo, 35, slapped her husband when he told her she couldn’t attend the Jive for an icon gala.

Chipo pleaded guilty to physically abusing her husband when she appeared before Victoria Falls magistrate, Sharon Rosemani on Tuesday.

She was fined $60.

Chipo said she was infuriated when Philip stopped her from going to the gala.

“He angered me when he said he didn’t want me to go to the gala. I was supposed to go with his sister. He went on to throw me out of the house,” she said.

The court heard that the couple has been having marital problems for some time and at some point Philip sent her packing from their matrimonial home.Prosecuting, Listen Nare said the couple, which has two children, had a misunderstanding on Saturday at 9PM.

“The accused slapped the complainant once in the face. The complainant sustained no visible injuries and didn’t go to hospital,” said the prosecutor.

Philip reported the matter to the police leading to his wife’s arrest.
