A 32-YEAR-OLD woman from Bulawayo allegedly stabbed her boyfriend three times on the head with a broken beer bottle after he failed to buy bread for their children.

Priscilla Sibanda, of Pumula North suburb, appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Jeconia Prince Ncube facing a charge of physical abuse. She was remanded in custody to 19 November.

Prosecutor Mr Tafara Dzimbanhete told the court that the incident occurred on November 9, at around 4pm. The complainant, Bekithemba Ndlovu (40), was drinking beer with friends at a beer garden in Pumula North when Sibanda confronted him.

“The two argued after Sibanda demanded to know why Ndlovu had not bought bread for their children. During the altercation, Sibanda grabbed an empty beer bottle, smashed it, and stabbed Ndlovu three times on the head,” said Mr Dzimbanhete.

A police report was filed, leading to Sibanda’s arrest.
