A WOMAN from Bulawayo has appeared in court for  allegedly stealing property worth RTGS$6 000 from her former landlord and drilling holes on his fitted cupboards.

Tarisai Muderedzi (40) of Ascot allegedly stole from Mr Michael Takawira of Livingstone Road in Suburbs whose age was not revealed.

Muderedzi was not asked to plead to theft and malicious damage to property when she appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Ms Ulukile Mlea-Ndlovu.

The magistrate remanded her   out of custody on $200 bail to November 11.

The court heard that Muderedzi was once Mr Takawira’s tenant.

Prosecuting, Mr Mufaro Mageza said between September 30 and October this year, Muderedzi left Mr Takawira’s house and also stole from him.

“At that time, the accused person stole one king-size bed, curtain rolls and a set of blue and white curtains,” he said.

Muderedzi allegedly damaged Mr Takawira’s kitchen floor tiles, fitted cupboards and bedroom curtain rolls.

The matter was reported to the police   leading to Muderedzi’s arrest.   —@zinyuke98
