A 34-YEAR-OLD Rusape woman stoned her 78-year old mother to death following a heated argument.
Police confirmed the incident which happened recently in Kanyangira Village in Chief Makoni’s area. Violet Kudoma was arrested soon after committing the crime.
She is assisting police with investigations.
Emily Kudoma died on the spot after sustaining serious injuries all over her body.
Villagers, Anna Tonatsaseyi (50) and Andrew Kudoma (58) observed Violet and Emily arguing over an undisclosed issue.
Violet allegedly assaulted her mother first before stoning her to death.
“They entered the bedroom. Emily was heard screaming and Violet stormed out of the room. Sensing danger, Andrew went to check whether everything was ok.
“Emily had injuries on the left cheek and near the right eye. She died before she was taken to hospital,” said deputy Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Luxson Chananda.
