Woman’s horror of snake’, 17 babies under her bed

A woman has described her horror after discovering 18 snakes writhing under her bed as she was about to go to sleep.

Trish Wilcher had to do a double take after noticing what she initially thought was a “piece of fuzz” moving on the floor.

Seconds later, she noticed another piece of “fuzz” moving at her home in the US state of Georgia.

She eventually found a mother snake and 17 babies after “turning the bedroom upside down”.

Ms Wilcher suspects the animal gave birth under her bed on Sunday.

Pictures reveal how the snakes were barely visible after blending into the carpet.

Man rescued from hole he dug on beach

An 18-year-old man had to be rescued from a hole he dug on the beach after it collapsed on him.

Emergency services were called by the coastguard to Fistral Beach in Newquay (UK).

They found the man trapped in a hole he had dug in the sand after it fell in on him, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

Police said that “friends and beach goers all worked together to dig the man to safety”.

He was allowed to return home after being checked over by medics, Newquay Community Fire Station said on Facebook.

“This could have easily resulted in crushing or suffocation,” they wrote.

“Please don’t dig huge holes in the sand, sand is partial to collapse and the dry weight is around a ton per metre cubed.

“You wouldn’t dig a hole in the garden and let your children climb in; please don’t do it on a beach either.” — Wires
