TWO women and a 16-year-old boy{ were caught red-handed skinning stolen cattle in Mboma Village, Lower Gweru.
Police in Maboleni arrested Prisca Sithole (34), Cathrine Sibanda (29), and a 16-year-old minor in connection with a case of stock theft that took place on 9 October O2025.
The trio, working with three other suspects who are still on the run, allegedly stole five cattle from the area. Their luck ran out when they were busted midway through the messy job of skinning two of the beasts they had already slaughtered.
According to police, a quick reaction by officers and alert villagers led to the dramatic arrest. “The ZRP confirms the arrest of three suspects in connection with a case of stock theft which occurred in Mboma Village, Lower Gweru,” said the police.
“Three live cattle, two carcasses, two buckets full of offal, and a black Honda Fit used as a getaway vehicle were recovered at the scene.”
The two women and their teenage accomplice are now cooling off in police cells while detectives hunt down the remaining three suspects.
Police reminded villagers to stay vigilant and report suspicious movements. “The ZRP warns all would-be offenders that stock theft is a serious crime and those involved will be brought to book,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, locals were left stunned that a 16-year-old had joined seasoned criminals in a rural cattle heist.
