A HARARE woman wept in court yesterday as she narrated the horror her estranged husband subjects her to.
Letwin Muzhuingi applied for a protection order against her husband, Cosmas Nzou, and described him as a violent man.
“Whenever he is drunk, he insults, beats me up and even chokes me.”
He accuses me of prostitution saying our kids are not his.
“On March 28, we were here for the same issue.
“l moved out three months ago because I couldn’t take it anymore and left my clothes,” she said in between sobs.
Nzou didn’t oppose the application.
“Your Worship, I have nothing to say. I just want to apologise to my wife and let her know that she is loved.
“I will do everything to make things right between us,” he said.
Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted the protection order.
The order prohibits Nzou from verbally abusing, threatening, or assaulting Muzhuingi.
He is also not allowed to communicate with her unless it is strictly necessary for the welfare of their children.
