THREE hundred women who graduated in braiding, weaving, sewing and beautification, have been challenged to further develop their skills for economic development.
The students were presented with certificates at Delight Training Centre on Saturday.
Baba naMai Charamba and dancehall singer, Freeman, presented certificates to the women.
College principal, Kevin Musekiwa, said they had created employers by equipping them with skills in hairdressing, beautification, baking and sewing.
“These imparted skills will enable them to have new sources of income and also enhance their social and living condition.
“We had one male student and l would like to challenge male students to take this opportunity to venture into professional hairdressing. Practice makes perfect, so go and make money,” said Musekiwa.
One of the graduates, Isabella Guri, whose dream of training in hairdressing was fulfilled, said:
“When you do something with your hands, you remember better and practical work promotes self-learning, independence and confidence.
“It’s now my duty to open a saloon and employ young women in my neighbourhood to keep them away from drugs and prostitution.”
