Women play an essential role in society.
Their strength, endurance, empathy, creativity, tolerance, dignity, gentleness, kindness and integrity, make them a rare specie.
As Swiss philosopher and poet, Henri Frederic Amiel, would put it: “Women wish to be loved without a why or a wherefore; not because they are pretty, or good, or well-bred, or graceful, or intelligent, but because they are themselves.”
Women’s gallantry approach towards life and its ups and downs has inspired content creators, ChihwaCheguhune comics, to carve skits that have gone viral on the social media.
The group that hails from Mutare, has seen its social media pages views steadily rising as they gain more followers on a daily basis.
Their skits focus on day-to-day issues that affect the society.
The group has the most creative, talented and experienced personnel in comedy, film and video production as well as script writing.
They are currently riding high with fresh skits such as, Zano Ranamaikuru as well as Upenyu which has parts one to three.
In an interview recently, the group’s leader, Irimai Mundoringisa, said he was humbled by the support they are receiving from viewers.
He said he also uses skits to preach the word of God.
“I believe it is a calling. Acting is in my DNA and I don’t struggle to face the camera and make people laugh. I would like to thank God for taking us this far. The response that we are receiving is overwhelming. We are getting feedback from people across the globe and it is encouraging,” he said.
“The skits are motivated by the resilience, patience and love that women exhibit, whether in marriage or family set-ups. In some of the skits, we comically present some situations where women endure raising their families alone. We also look at how women soldier on despite abuse, segregation or isolation and the load or burden that a girl-child or women carry in child-headed families. I always advocate for the protection of women who are our mothers through skits. A lot of things happen in marriages, for instance, gender-based violence among other things.
“I also copied some acting traits from my mother, for instance the way she raised me,” he said.
The 48-year-old talented actor, said he uses comedy to preach the word of God.
Mundoringisa was born at Mutambara Mission Hospital and went to Nechitima, Chaseyama, Mashonjowa and, Zamba primary schools before enrolling at St Dominic’s High School for his secondary education.
He possesses a Diploma in Administration as well as a Degree in Theology.
