BULAWAYO Christian Leaguea��s second placed Word Of Life are confident they are still worthy opponents for the title run this year.
Speaking after a draw against Flying stars, Word Of Life coach Bhekani Ncube said the two week-break affected his team that suffered a two nil setback in the first half of the game but came back to equalise in the second half in thrilling fashion.
Word Of Life had taken a break due to various church commitments.
a�?The boys played well, especially looking at the fact that Flying Stars is a very good team, a draw is actually a very good result,a�? said Ncube.
The title is still within reach for them.
a�?We are confident that we can lift the trophy this year because the team is doing well. Ita��s unfortunate that we drew in a crucial match that could have equalled our points to the log leaders. That leaves us no choice but to run riot onA� Sangano,a�? added Ncube.
Sangano Legends are Christian League log leaders seated on 23 points, two ahead of the title contenders making them the team to beat.
The two still have a fixture which could determine who lifts the trophy next week.
In the other fixture, third-placed UFIC beat struggling Victory Fellowship one goal to nil.
UFIC gained three points but remained on position three on the log while Victory Fellowship remained last.
Victory Fellowship has drawn one game and registered no wins in the league since it commenced this year.
