MIKEL ARTETA has agreed a new three-year contract with Arsenal.
The Spaniard’s deal was due to expire at the end of this season, but he has now put pen to paper to keep him at the Emirates until 2027.
It will be a welcome boost to Arsenal fans ahead of the North London derby at Tottenham on Sunday.
The new deal will also alleviate concerns over Arteta after he was forced to deny reports of a switch to Barcelona last season.
According to The Athletic, Arsenal and Arteta agreed the new deal to “eliminate any uncertainty” over the manager’s future.
Arteta joined Arsenal in 2019, leaving behind his role as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City – Sun.
