A CAR wash worker has claimed he earns US$3 per day.

He was dragged to the Maintenance Court by his former wife for the upkeep of his child.

Munyaradzi Chipeme was taken to court by his ex-wife, Nyarai Katsande, who was claiming $120 000 maintenance.

Chipeme told the court that he is currently unemployed.

“I am a driver, but l lost my licence and that is why I am no longer working.

“Currently, I am working at a car wash where I am earning US$3 per day,” he said.

Magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini ordered Chipeme to pay $30 000, starting from December 31.
