World leaders should stop posturing

was over-exaggerating the state of the world and the danger humans can cause.
The human race has been at the forefront of all other species in development.
Over the centuries we have seen many inventions and technological developments.
We have made great strides ahead of monkeys, baboons and zebras.
At some point we can claim to have brought about civilisation as a species.
We have built big cities and great architecture. We have made discoveries of many things that God created.
All this is plausible, however, what are all these things leading us to?
The producer of the ‘Age of stupid’ argues in his film that if we continue however, with the same rate of emitting ozone gases, we will be extinct in the next forty-five to a hundred years.
The ozone layer is being depleted everyday. The ice at the poles is melting at a faster rate than ever.
Seasons are changing and this is noticeable even in Zimbabwe where our rain season is now starting much later than before.
The temperatures are rising and the earth is on its way to collapse.
In the inconvenient truth, former US presidential candidate, Al Gore articulates the danger our industry is causing on the environment.
Many aquatic animals are dying and finding themselves without homes every day.
We have become so production-oriented that we seem to have forgotten about sustainability and the west is at the forefront.
Poverty is so bad sometimes, even with little carbon emissions, many nations in Africa and Asia are recipients of ‘carbon credits’.
These carbon credits do not replace the ozone layer neither do they reduce the problems of global warming.
They authenticate bad behaviour by the industrialised nations.
No to carbon, instead of issuing carbon credits, these nations should just reduce their emissions.
At the end of the day, we are the worst affected by the global warming.
Our nations lack the basic technology to produce under such circumstances; our production is so much dependant on the natural climate.
We lack the technology to manipulate the climate to enhance production.
With the global climate changing, more droughts coming, Africa and some part of Asia will endure year and decade of continued famine.
Leaders in these regions should fight for the survival of world. It seems common sense is now only in Africa. World leaders should stop posturing and start waking up to the reality that something needs to be done urgently about the situation.
This issue call for global leadership, leaders need to rise to the challenge and protect their people.
As we push ourselves toward extinction, we adopt technologies we cannot control. Japan is an example.
Nuclear energy is a solution today but it has its challenge and should be abandoned not only by Japan, but by everyone.
Japan is still suffering from the evils done at Hiroshima. This nuclear debacle will affect many generations to come.
Many children with deformed bodies will continue to be born because of this. The radiation has now been found its way into the sea.
What evil have we done to God’s creation? Where are the leaders who are the custodians of humanity.
Not to despise them, countries like South Korea are fighting for adopting of such sources of energy but when the worst happens like in Japan’s case, will they be able to control it?
Will the leaders be able to live with the guilt or the responsibility?
Bravo to the French leadership because France opened its eyes and closed all its nuclear power stations and we hope the US and others will follow suit.
Why would we adopt things we have no control of what so ever?
Nuclear energy is so dangerous that if it is not well contained, it can destroy the whole world at once.
Let this voice be heard in Iran, let it be heard in China, let it be heard in the US.
Africa is innocent and it’s not fair for it to suffer due to the unquenchable thirst for development. Our leaders should resist this destruction.
Even in Africa, deforestation must stop forestry institutions should be capacitated to ensure prosecution is effected where necessary.
Africa is fast becoming a desert and that destructive behaviour changed. We want to give our children a safe world.
Nuclear energy and carbon emissions should stop. Zimbabwe is one of the few African countries not receiving carbon credits.
Instead of giving credits, let the developed nations plant trees in their own territories, tree are not big a problem as they are in the west.
The nuclear energy will affect Africa the most. We do not have the masks and other technology to protect ourselves from radioactive material; we do not need it because no one should have such hence any need for protection.
If we as African do not protect and lobby for the end of this madness we will suffer the results.
Once again, let this word be heard by those who are competing to have nuclear, let it spread throughout the European Union and let it be heard in the Americas, that Africa says No.
This is the African story and we cannot be compromised and suffer at the end of the day.
Rise Africa rise and protect the world. Money and productions have conquered the West and sense has been lost in that part of the world.
This is leadership, global leadership. Hope you were inspired. See you next week as we explore more on how to make our world work better for all of us not just one or two continents at the expense of the whole world.
