THE Spoken Word and Writers Awards will be held on March 21 in Harare.
It is meant to recognise and celebrate the work of spoken word artists and writers from across the country.
The event seeks to foster creativity, and understanding, as well as to encourage poets and writers to pursue their passion and make a positive impact with their words.
All poets and writers can apply for nomination, with categories ranging from poem of the year to best anthology.
The event is being organised by Lennox Gondo, president of Spoken Word and Writers Association (SWWA).
He said poets and writers must submit their work for nomination before Friday.
“We believe that every voice matters and it is crucial to empower individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences to share their stories.
“By providing a platform for these talented artists, we hope to inspire creativity, foster dialogue and promote a deeper understanding of the world around us.
“Writers can submit their work for nominations in the 22 categories such as Poem of the Year, Best Male/Female Poet, Best Poem Per Language and Best Anthology, among others. “We welcome everyone to join us on this special occasion to witness the power of words and honour the incredible talent within the literary community,” said Gondo.
