Gospel singer Linia Wutete, better known as Vessel, has dropped a new single that is likely to take airwaves by storm that features afro jazz singer Prudence Katomeni–Mbofana.

The single dubbed “Mamonya naJesu” was produced by Dr Nigel Nyambombe at Your Sound Africa Studios and is now available on Oyos Music platform. “The songs talks about how victorious we are as Christians when we are with Jesus by our side.

“It emanates from the scripture that says ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me and if God be with us who can be against us’. “In other words we are giants that cannot be easily defeated”, elucidated Wutete.

The song employs chants at the beginning and right at the end of the song which goes like: “Welcome soldiers that have won in battle, right at the Calvary so this is a delayed match, and don’t accept defeat”.

The combination of the two sweet voices brings out a mellow ballad that compels one to put on dancing shoes without thinking twice. The song is already enjoying airplay in most radio stations.

Katomeni, who is also Wutete’s voice tutor at Music Crossroads Academy, said featuring on the song was exciting. “I met Linia in class and a little chemistry was built between us. When she asked me if can feature on her song I couldn’t resist because it was very rich and so spiritual. Though I don’t sing gospel music and I am a devoted Christian too that is why I worked with her,” she said.

The artists are already working on a video for the song and it will be released soon. Wutete released her first album in “Unstoppable Preacher Volume 1” (2005) which was followed by “Unstoppable Preacher Volume 2(2006).

In 2011 she dropped another album titled “Result Praises and Worship” and “Handidi Nhamo” (2016) which proved to be popular amongst gospel fans and it brought her into the limelight.
