Young Igwe @ City Sports Bar

The “Young Igwe”, as Peter is also known, has been sampling songs from the album and the song “Mushonga Mukuru” has been popular with the fans.

Fans just love the lyrics.
“Mushonga mukuru womira newako, kana wane mari vakadzi vanowanda, miyedzo ichauya zuva nezuva, chirwere chakauya kana wofara wofara newako, chihera wangu womira newako, uri kure tsamba dzako dzondifungidza kure, usakanganwe chitsidzo chedu,” go part of the lyrics.

For all what it is and what he represents, Peter is not far off from the mark in consolidating his career as a musician, which came as an afterthought following the death of his father in 2011.

Like a colossus, the young man has straddled the length and breadth of Zimbabwe holding shows, with some flopping while others were remarkably good. Although he currently relies on his late father’s work, he has already shown that with the necessary mentoring and guidance, Peter can bring out a good musical brand.

Peter got vocal lessons from Pastor Charles Charamba before he finally went into the studio and record his debut album.
Despite his vocal shortcomings, the Young Igwe’s live shows have been a marvel to watch as he always puts his mind and soul into everything that he does.

One thing is certain, Peter is keeping his father’s brand going strong. The vocals continue to improve and the act on stage, which is a favourite with the ladies, is still way up there. The well-choreographed dances continue to impress while the sungura beat is still consistent.
