Peter Moyo revives his romance with Harare fans at City Sports Bar tonight. The musician is expected to unveil new acts that have been prepared for 2014 to show his group’s versatility. Utakataka Express has one of the best choreographies on the sungura scene as the young dancers always mesmerise dancers when they take to the stage.
Although the band was hit by squabbles that involved some band members complaining about poor remuneration, the Young Igwe, as the musician is popularly known, said he would always give the best to his fans. “We solve problems when they come because our aim is to move ahead. We are returning to Harare as our 2014 programme begins and we are promising people a year of good results in Utakataka Express.
“Our fans should look forward to the best,” he said. Like his late father Tongai, Young Igwe has made Harare his second home.
The Kwekwe-based musician said City Sports Bar has emotional memories for him since his father staged his last show before death at the show. In the first days of his leadership of the band, many people doubted his capacity but the musician has been improving with time.
