HEAVY rains nearly disrupted the Peter “Young Igwe” Moyo and Judgement Yard show in Beitbridge causing a two hour delay of the show. Heavy downpours began at 8PM and stopped at around 10.30PM, delaying the show, which was supposed to start at 8.30PM.Despite the wet weather about 2,000 fans waited patiently at the venue, Pagomba Café, for the rains to subside and dance to the tunes of Young Igwe and Judgement Yard.
The two main actors did not disappoint as Judgement Yard DJs were the first to shake off the cold from the crowd at around 10.30PM.
The DJs kept revellers on their feet as they played a mixed grill of songs.
Judgement Yard proved why they are called the best in the country when they made the fans dance their feet lame until the Young Igwe took to the stage two hours later.
The house went into frenzy when Peter took to the stage with his ever smartly dressed band.
The Kwekwe-based outfit did not waste time on stage as they went straight into songs playing some of his late father’s yester year hits and songs from his recent album Mushonga Mukuru.
The entertainment starved revellers had the opportunity to sample the Igwe’s new dancing routine called Tsono.
Some of the songs, which moved the house into frenzy include, Mushonga Mukuru, Konzi, Tutsotso and Pasirino.
Utakataka Express put up a well choreographed act, which left their hard to please legion of fans crying for more.
Queues of revellers started forming outside the Pagomba Café as early as 7PM.
Pagomba Café general manger Lovemore Chonzi described the show as memorable.
“This is one of the best shows we have heard at Pagomba Café where beer and other beverages were almost sold out. We are also happy that there was a huge turnout considering that we are in January where many are faced with financial constraints.
“We are going to build on this show’s success for our future events,” said Chonzi.
